Social media is one of the most important things for any business in this day and age. Using social media as a marketing strategy for a company helps engage customers and consumers, keeps them updated on what is happening within the company, and can ultimately lead to growing profit if it is used correctly. The most effective way to use social media is to develop a social media marketing campaign to build a community online. Take a look at some of our tips to consider when creating your next social media marketing campaign.

  • Create a strategy

A  great strategy consists of planning around a specific event or happening. If it’s a one-day event, plan a few days around it. It’s important to keep in mind that you won’t just automatically gain a ton of new followers. It does build over time and quality followers won’t just magically appear. However, if you plan around a certain event, you can gain viewership to your company and what it is promoting.

  • Participate

If you want to get the most out of your campaign, talk to anyone and everyone that is wiling to reach out to you. If one of your posts is getting comments, it is crucial to interact with everyone. Let it be known that you care about your consumers or customers and you want them to know that you are paying attention to what they have to say! The best customers are those who engage and chat with you for the sake of voicing their thoughts and opinions and a desire to interact with you. Don’t just retweet their every tweet, either. Reply to them, talk to them, and understand them.

  • Ask participants to follow you

In some industries this may seem cheesy, but in the business world, this is a crucial step. Don’t just put a tiny little Twitter bird on your site, though — graphics like social media stamps can go on your website, online store, social media pages, print materials, and in-store signage. Put effort into getting consumers to like your page, make it worthwhile for them.

  • Keep track of your success

Social media can be very often broken down into analytical definitions — retweets, replies, engagements, mentions, etc. Everything you write on social media can be peered at through advanced social media analytics. Although it’s good to know everything, pay special attention to your replies and mentions – those are the things that will contribute to your growth!

  • Build your contact database

Make sure to keep an eye on followers that reply, retweet, and engage. Those are the ones that tend to be loyal to your company. A contact list in social media is about which of your followers are most important to you, which may not mean that they have the highest amount of followers or tweets, it really just means how often they are interacting with you.
