Divi Staff allows you to manage and display your staff & departments more intuitively using new custom post types, archive templates and modules built exclusively for use with the Divi theme. Showing off your awesome staff on Divi has never been easier!!!
You can create as many staff member posts as you want, use the new Divi Staff Grid module to display staff images/links on any page you want, and new customizer settings to further customize the archive pages. Showing off your staff on Divi has never been easier.
Additional Customizer Settings: We added exclusive settings for our archive page templates and for the meta-data in the single staff member page template. Changing the color schemes in Divi Staff pages is super easy.
Easily Change “Staff” Label & “Departments” Label: You can easily change the labels “Staff” and “Departments” in the Theme Customizer making it perfect for “Sales Reps”, “Teams”, “Volunteers” or whoever you need to display on your website.
The Divi Staff Grid Module: This plugin includes a new custom module called Divi Staff Grid. The Divi Staff Grid module works just like the portfolio grid module allowing you to display & sort your staff members on any page of your website.
The Divi Staff Filterable Grid Module: This plugin includes a new custom module called Divi Staff Filterable Grid. The Divi Staff Filterable Grid module works just like the portfolio filterable grid module allowing you to display, sort & filter your staff members by department on any page of your website.
New Module Display Options: Each custom Divi Staff Module gives you the option to sort by name, position or random. You can also set the sorting order (ascending / descending). We have also added a Department Selection to both modules in case you only want to display certain departments.
Advanced Meta Boxes: We have added several advanced meta boxes for items like position titles, phone numbers, addresses, emails, etc. This allows us to easily call up these items on archive pages and in the Custom Divi Modules.
Custom Archive Page Templates: We have created fully custom archive page templates to display important meta-data such as phone numbers and position titles. You can easily link to a single staff member, all staff members, or even departments.
Automatic Updates: Updates for this plugin are served automatically from your WordPress dashboard. You must have an up-to-date version of Divi installed.
Installation
Download the Divi Staff plugin file from your dashboard.
Head to Plugins > Add New > Upload File in your WP Admin Menu.
Go to Settings > Permalinks and click “Save Changes”
You will see a new post on the main menu in the WordPress Dashboard. In it will be the options to add new staff, add new departments and see a list of all your staff. On the staff page you will also see advanced meta boxes for the basic contact information. This is where the templates & modules pull the contact and title information.
In the customizer you will find new options for styling the Divi Staff archive pages and changes the slug name (Staff) and taxonomy (Departments) to whatever you like.
FAQ's
I get a 404 when I try to view my staff pages
In some cases you may need to reset your permalinks when you first start using the new post type.
Go to Setting > Permalinks
Select the Save Changes button.
How to change the post type and taxonomy names
Go to Divi > Theme Customizer > Divi Staff Settings > Rename Slug + Taxonomy
Update the labels to whatever you want.
Go back to your dashboard and refresh the page to see that your labels have been changed.
Note: The slugs (url) has changed as well so be sure to update any links using the old slug. This would probably only apply if you used a custom link in the menu or in a text module.
How to add staff and department menus to the side bar
Go to Appearance > Menus
Create a new menu and call it whatever you want.
On the left you will see two new options. One for Staff and one for Departments. For this menu you can select from either list and then save the menu.
Go to Appearance > Widgets
Drag the Custom Menu widget into the sidebar
Name your new menu whatever you like and then select the menu you just created and select save.
You new menu will now be located in the sidebar.
How to add staff and department menus to the main menu
Go to Appearance > Menus
On the left you will see two new options. One for Staff and one for Departments. You can select from either list and then save them to your primary menu.
How to link to the staff archive page
Depending on your permalink settings, you will add the slug to the end of your URL. So for example if you did not rename the custom post type and it is still called staff, the custom link would look like this: https://yourwebsitenamehere.com/staff/
So to add it to your main menu you would go to Appearance > Menus
On the left you will use the Custom Link option and add the url mentioned above.
How to add staff to regular pages.
We have created a module called Divi Staff Grid.
You can add it anywhere on any page where the Page Builder is enabled. Just add it as you would any other module.
My excerpts are not showing.
The Divi Staff Grid Modules work just like the Divi Portfolio Modules which do not include excerpts. Although we may include that option in future updates.
If the excerpts are not showing on the staff and archive pages, then you might have Excerpts disabled. Check the settings in Divi Theme options and make sure Use excerpts when defined is enabled
Remove Sidebar on Divi Staff Single Staff Pages
Just add the following CSS to the Divi Theme Options Custom CSS Panel
/* make divi staff template fullwidth */
.staff-template-default div#left-area {
width: 100%;}
.staff-template-default div#sidebar {
display: none;}
.staff-template-default .container:before {
background-color:transparent !important; }
